12 Years Since the Enthronement of Archimandrite Ioannis as Abbot of the Apostle Barnabas Monastery

Today, January 5th, marks 12 years since the enthronement of Archimandrite Ioannis as Abbot of the Holy Monastery of the Apostle Barnabas in occupied Salamis. Archimandrite Ioannis emphasized that these years have been a continuous effort to maintain the presence of the Monastery, despite the difficult conditions of occupation. The Monastery is a symbol of Hellenism and Christianity in Cyprus, as it houses the tomb of the Apostle Barnabas. Furthermore, he mentioned the granting of the Church of Saint Anthony to the Monastery, which now operates as a Metochi, providing a functional space for the brotherhood and visitors.
