€1.74m Raised for Limassol Fire Victims – Over €50,000 Contributions in Seven Cases from Legal Entities – How the Government Distributed the Funds

Contributions for supporting the fire victims in the Limassol region of Cyprus have reached €1,741,849, with contributions from 1,469 individuals and legal entities. The largest contributions, totaling €775,000, come from legal entities, while significant are also the contributions between €10,000 and €50,000, amounting to €611,500. The smaller contributions, under €10,000, amounted to €355,349. The government has already allocated €850,000 for the purchase of 17 fire engines, which will be donated to the community councils of the fire-affected communities to strengthen fire protection. The remaining amount, €891,849, will be distributed to the fire-affected communities, which will have the opportunity to implement projects of their choice. The distribution of contributions is done with transparency and accountability, as assured by the General Accounting Office of the Republic. Aid will be provided in a way that will support those affected and the communities affected by the fires, in accordance with government decisions.
