30-Year-Old Held for Eight Days in Connection with Premeditated Murder of Uncle

A 30-year-old man has been placed under an eight-day arrest warrant following a court decision, as he is suspected of being the perpetrator of the premeditated murder of a 41-year-old man in Pega, Paphos. The victim was transported to the hospital with a knife embedded in his abdomen, but succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. The suspect admitted to stabbing his uncle, but claimed he did not intend to kill him. According to police, the victim and the suspect had a disagreement in the previous days, and the 30-year-old allegedly attacked his uncle when the two met to resolve it. Police officers found the suspect outside his home, with his car damaged and a window smashed. In the car that transported the victim to the hospital, three other people were also found, who were also reported to the police. The case is being investigated by the Paphos TAE (Serious Crime Unit), and various pieces of evidence have been collected, including the knife used in the attack and the car that transported the victim. Investigations are ongoing to determine all the circumstances of the fatal incident.
