3.2 Magnitude Earthquake Felt in Paphos and Limassol

A 3.2 magnitude earthquake was felt in Paphos and Limassol, Cyprus, on Thursday afternoon. According to the Geological Survey Department, the epicenter was located in the wider area of Agia Marina Kelokedaron, approximately 23 kilometers east of Paphos, at a focal depth of 25 kilometers. This earthquake is related to the strong seismic activity observed in November, when two powerful earthquakes of magnitude 5.2 and 5.3 occurred. Since then, more than 300 earthquakes have been recorded in the same area. The Geological Survey Department notes that the seismic sequence is evolving normally, but this does not rule out the possibility of further felt earthquakes in the future. Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the authorities in the event of new seismic activity. The seismic activity in Cyprus is closely monitored by the Geological Survey Department, which provides immediate information on any new earthquakes and their effects.
