7 Flu Deaths in Cyprus - Emergency Meeting Held Amid Hospital Pressure

Seven deaths of patients with laboratory-confirmed influenza have been recorded in Cyprus since the beginning of the current epidemic season. Most of the deceased were elderly individuals with underlying health conditions. A total of 98 people have been hospitalized due to influenza, including 85 in public and 13 in private hospitals. The Ministry of Health held an emergency meeting to better coordinate efforts to address the outbreak of seasonal infections, with an emphasis on cooperation between the public and private sectors. An appeal was issued to the public to adhere to personal protection measures, such as good hygiene and mask-wearing, especially for vulnerable groups.
