Animal Cruelty Allegations at Christmas Event and Neglect of Cypriot Cows

Serious allegations of animal cruelty have surfaced, made by the President of the Animal Party, Kyriakos Kyriakos. He reported the death of a pony at a Christmas event in the province of Nicosia, potentially due to lack of care and permits. Simultaneously, he highlighted the tragic condition of Cypriot cows in a field in Akrotiri, Limassol, which are severely underweight and malnourished despite receiving funding for their protection. Mr. Kyriakos emphasized the need for strict controls and permits for the use of animals in events, as well as the responsibility of organizers for their welfare. He noted that information about the pony incident reached even international sources, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. Regarding the cows, Mr. Kyriakos stated that the problem had been highlighted previously, without any substantial improvement. He accused those responsible of not using the funds they receive to properly feed the animals, leaving them to starve. The President of the Animal Party expressed strong disappointment with the overall attitude of society towards animal protection and indigenous species, emphasizing the need for a change in mindset and greater awareness.
