Anitta: Progress of Negotiations for New MFF a Top Priority

The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Dimitriou, met with the President of the European Court of Auditors, Tony Murphy, and discussed the progress of negotiations for the new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034. Ms. Dimitriou emphasized that progress on the MFF negotiations is a top priority for Cyprus, which will assume the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2026. The discussion focused on strengthening European security and defense, the competitiveness of the European economy, and the promotion of the values of the Union. Mr. Murphy referred to the challenges posed by increasing pressures on the European budget and the demands for tangible results, while assuring that the opinions of the ECA will be studied with interest.
