Anti-Corruption Authority Won't Accept Complaints Simply Repeating Audit Office Reports
The Independent Anti-Corruption Authority is clarifying that it will not investigate complaints that merely reproduce the findings of the Auditor General's reports, unless they contain personal knowledge or additional evidence. The Authority points out that simply adopting the conclusions of the Auditor General does not meet the requirements for initiating an investigation. At the same time, it emphasizes the steady cooperation with the Auditor General since 2023, where the latter directly transmits cases that may involve corruption. The Authority clarifies that it evaluates all reports of the Auditor General and proceeds with ex officio investigations when it identifies issues that fall within its jurisdiction. Finally, it emphasizes that citizens should not replace the role of the Auditor General.
