Antoniou Explains: Why Zelenskyy Doesn't Name Turkey as Invader

Deputy Government Spokesperson Yannis Antoniou explained why Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not name Turkey as an invader during his visit to Cyprus. He stated that in politics and diplomacy, things are often more complex and that Turkey plays a significant role in negotiations for Ukraine, such as the grain deal. Mr. Antoniou noted that Zelenskyy's stance may be justified by the need to maintain good relations with Turkey, despite the fact that Turkey is violating EU sanctions against Russia. However, he pointed out that the Cypriot government is raising these issues where appropriate. He emphasized that the government focuses on the substance of the discussions regarding the Cyprus issue and the need for a solution that is considered by international partners.
