ATA Increase of 0.10% for the First 6 Months of 2026

The Ministry of Finance has announced an adjustment to the Cost of Living Allowance (ATA) for 2026. From January 1st, the allowance will increase by 0.10% for the first six months of the year, and by 0.12% for the following twelve months. This increase is based on the positive performance of GDP and the arithmetic average of the Index used to calculate the ATA in 2025, which saw a 0.13% increase. Specifically, the cost of living allowance will be 361.44% of basic salaries, with a minimum limit of €13,803 for the first half of 2026. From July, it will rise to 361.53%, with a minimum limit of €13,807. These increases will be taken into account when calculating the salaries of civil servants, with the exception of those who have already incorporated part of the allowance into their salaries. For employees who have incorporated 27.99% of the cost of living allowance into their salaries, the increase will be from 12.56% to 12.67% for the first six months and 12.70% for the following twelve months, with a minimum limit of €1,982 and €1,987 respectively. This decision is a continuation of the Permanent Agreement on the ATA signed by the social partners and aims to adjust salaries to inflation and maintain the purchasing power of workers.
