Athens Alitheia Forum: How Greeks Get Informed and Their Concerns About Fake News

The Athens Alitheia Forum focused on the phenomenon of fake news and how Greek citizens get informed. Research by Analytica showed that social media is the primary source of information for Greeks (37%), followed by television, news websites, newspapers, and radio. Social media usage is widespread, with three out of four respondents using it daily. A significant percentage also get information from commentators and friends on social media. Newspapers and news websites have the highest trust ratings, while social media ranks lower. The majority of citizens are concerned about the spread of fake news and find it difficult to distinguish them from true news.
