Bill for Recreation Centers Withdrawn at the Last Minute – PASIKA Condemns 'Institutional Regression'

The Pan-Cypriot Association of Recreation Center Owners (PASIKA) expressed strong disappointment and outrage over the sudden withdrawal of the bill concerning Recreation Centers, just before it was to be put to a vote in the Plenary Session of the Parliament. The Association characterizes the withdrawal as an institutional regression and a reversal of a collective and democratic process. PASIKA argues that the bill was the result of lengthy consultations and had secured the support of the majority of parliamentary forces. It accuses certain circles of attempting to overturn the balance that had been achieved, through the dissemination of misleading information. The Association calls on the State to return immediately with the original text of the bill, emphasizing that the hospitality sector should not be subject to serving particular interests.
