Brazil's Former President Bolsonaro Undergoes Second Surgery for Persistent Hiccups

Brazil's former president, Jair Bolsonaro, underwent a second surgery to address persistent hiccups. The procedure involved blocking the left phrenic nerve, following a previous surgery on the right side. The hiccups are a consequence of health issues Bolsonaro has faced since an assassination attempt in 2018. He was also sentenced to 27 years in prison for attempting a coup, but has been granted permission to be hospitalized. His health condition allows for hospitalization despite his conviction.
