Bus Drivers to Stage Work Stoppage Over Speed Camera Issues

Bus drivers, members of OMEPEGE – SEK and SEGDAMELIN – PEO, have announced a two-hour work stoppage for Friday, March 27th, between 09:00 and 11:00. This decision comes in response to the lack of a substantial solution from the Ministry of Transport regarding the problems caused by the speed camera system for professional bus drivers. The unions have repeatedly requested the installation of warning systems for red traffic lights to avoid sudden braking, which endangers passenger safety. It is noted that buses, due to their size and the presence of passengers, cannot be stopped abruptly. The unions apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to the public.
