Call for Filmmakers to Participate in Focus Groups

The Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture invites filmmakers (directors, producers, actors, technicians) to participate in focus groups to be held in April-May 2026. The aim is to record the needs, opinions, and challenges faced by creators, in order to shape an effective strategy for cinema in Cyprus. Three focus groups will be held, each with 5-7 people, lasting two hours. Participation is voluntary and unpaid. The Department of Contemporary Culture seeks to ensure representative participation from people of different genders, ages, geographical areas, and professional roles in the film industry. The selection process will be completed in April-May, and selected participants will be notified by email. The exact date of the focus groups will be determined in consultation with the participants. It is noted that participation does not constitute a public consultation and that employees of the Deputy Ministry of Culture or members of the boards of directors of supervised bodies cannot participate.
