Ceasefire Declared in Kurdish Neighborhoods of Aleppo After Days of Clashes

A ceasefire has been declared in the Kurdish neighborhoods of Aleppo after days of bloody clashes between Kurdish forces and the Syrian army, which led to the evacuation of thousands of civilians. The clashes, the most serious to have occurred in the city between the governing forces and the Kurds, raised concerns about regional escalation, with Turkey stating its readiness to intervene and Israel expressing willingness to protect the Kurds. The ceasefire, which came into effect at 03:00 (local time), provides for the withdrawal of Kurdish fighters by 09:00 (local time) with safe passage to the northeastern part of Syria. The US welcomed the ceasefire and is working to extend it.
