Chaos in Lefkara: Parents Rushed to Take Their Child to the Doctor and Were 'Blocked' Due to… a Christmas Village

Chaos reigns in Lefkara due to the large influx of visitors to the Christmas village. Increased traffic has caused a traffic jam, resulting in problems for citizens accessing essential services, such as medical care. The community leader of Vavatsinia, Andreas Gavriel, blames the police and the Lefkara Municipality for the lack of traffic management. According to Mr. Gavriel, on Friday the road was closed for over an hour, preventing parents from taking their child to the doctor. The parents had even contacted Police Headquarters, but received no response. The community leader expresses fears about access for ambulances and fire engines in the event of an emergency. Furthermore, he reports that one of the security guards falsely informed visitors about a non-existent accident in order to justify the delay. He states that he received three complaints about the incident, even from a high-ranking state official. Despite mobilization efforts by the Lefkara Municipality, the situation remained out of control. Mr. Gavriel calls on the police to take responsibility for traffic management and prevent similar problems from recurring.
