Colombian President Vows to Take Up Arms if Attacked by the US

The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, responded to threats from former US President Donald Trump, stating that he would “take up arms” for his country. This statement comes as a response to Trump's comments regarding a military operation against the Venezuelan leader. Petro, a former rebel, has been the target of strong criticism and threats from Trump. Trump described him as a “sick man” involved in the production and trafficking of cocaine in the United States. Simultaneously, the Cuban government condemned the “cowardly American aggression” against Venezuela, characterizing it as a criminal act and a violation of international law. Cuba is demanding the immediate release of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
