Complaints of Price Gouging on Fuel – 'God Help Us'

The President of the Consumer Protection and Quality of Life Association, Loukas Aristodimou, expressed concern about fuel prices and instances of price gouging in the market. While government measures are considered positive, they are not sufficient to substantially support citizens. He warned of further price increases and a possible supply restriction, which would lead to consumer exploitation. Furthermore, he questioned the transparency in how fuel prices are determined and the lack of government control, proposing daily publication of stocks and prices. Finally, he denounced price gouging in fruit and vegetable prices, arguing that producers receive a small portion of the final price.
