Consumers Association: Exclusion of Heating Oil from Measures is Unacceptable
The President of the Consumers Association, Marios Drousiotis, describes the exclusion of a tax reduction for heating oil from the government's package of measures as unjustified. The government's justification, that we are entering summer, is rejected, as data shows significant heating oil consumption even in May (2,549 tons), especially in mountainous areas. Mr. Drousiotis calls for the inclusion of heating oil in the bill to be submitted to Parliament. In addition, a price increase of 4-6 cents per liter is expected for heating oil this week. Finally, criticism is repeated regarding the price of LPG, which has reached €25 per bottle, with the Association emphasizing that the Ministry of Commerce has the power to impose a price cap, but does not.
