Costa: The EU Cannot Accept Violations of International Law

European Council President Antonio Costa stated that the European Union cannot accept violations of international law, referring to cases such as Cyprus, Latin America, Greenland, Ukraine, and Gaza. During his speech at the Inauguration Ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, he emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine and promoting European integration. Costa reiterated that the EU will remain a steadfast defender of international law and multilateralism, stressing that the Russian invasion of Ukraine constitutes a blatant violation of international law. He expressed the EU's full support for the people of Greenland and emphasized that no decision can be made for Greenland without its consent.
