Cypriot Farmers to Protest Delays in Subsidies

Cypriot farmers have decided to stage a dynamic protest outside the headquarters of the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organisation (KOAP) on Monday, February 16th, at 11:30 AM. This unanimous decision was made by all agricultural organisations following a meeting in Larnaca, in response to delays and unjustified cuts in subsidies. Farmers complain that despite assurances from KOAP, many remain unpaid for acreage subsidies and special measures, while those who have been paid have noticed significant reductions in the amounts received. Furthermore, they point out that problems are exacerbated by bureaucratic difficulties and KOAP's requirements, despite efforts by government agencies to facilitate payments to farmers.
