Cyprus Cabinet to Discuss Foot-and-Mouth Disease and Price Increases

The Cyprus Cabinet will discuss today the management of foot-and-mouth disease and the price increases caused by the war in the Middle East. President Christodoulides stressed the importance of making bold decisions and pledged support for livestock farming in cooperation with all stakeholders. He also warned that no attempt at profiteering will be tolerated, reminding of existing measures such as zero VAT and electricity subsidies. The President assured that the government will take measures to protect consumers from unjustified price increases, while simultaneously supporting livestock farming. The government is committed to collaborating with all involved parties to revitalize and strengthen the livestock sector.
