Cyprus Government Investigates 'Hybrid Activity' Allegations in Leaked Video

Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis announced that an investigation is underway into a case of “hybrid activity” against the Republic of Cyprus, following the release of a video on social media. The video contains allegations of bribery involving President Christodoulides and has been described by the government as “malicious and a product of montage,” aimed at damaging the image of the government and the country. Former Energy Minister Giorgos Lakkotrypis, who appears in the video, has filed a complaint with the Nicosia TAE. The Attorney General and the Chief of Police have been informed about the case. The video, published by an account on X, includes edited statements from Mr. Lakkotrypis and other individuals, alleging quid pro quo during President Christodoulides’ election campaign.
