The Cypriot authorities are investigating a case of 'hybrid activity' related to a video circulating online, which depicts conversations between three political and business figures and individuals offering to invest in Cyprus. The video allegedly contains discussions about illegal funding and methods to circumvent sanctions. Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis stated that the Attorney General and the Chief of Police have been informed about the matter. Initially, the Presidential Palace described the video as malicious and a product of editing, based on an assessment by the competent state service. The government claims the video attempts to tarnish the image of Cyprus and its government through false claims and arbitrary conclusions. It emphasizes that the video is a fabrication intended to damage the country's reputation. The General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, criticized the government's explanations regarding the video, expressing doubts about their credibility and calling for a further investigation.
