Cyprus Myths Exhibition Inaugurated at the European Parliament

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, inaugurated the GTP exhibition “The Myths of Cyprus” at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, in the presence of the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. The exhibition, which presents eight Cypriot myths, took place within the framework of Cyprus’s assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the EU. President Christodoulides emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting cultural heritage, stressing that myths and traditions are an integral part of cultural identity and connect generations. He expressed his belief that culture is the common language that brings citizens closer together and strengthens the unity of Europe. In his address, President Christodoulides referred to a quote by Jean Monnet, emphasizing that culture can shape who we are and who we can become. He also highlighted Cyprus’s role as a bridge between Europe and the wider region of the Middle East and the Gulf. The Director of GTP, Alice Stylianou, welcomed the President of the Republic and the President of the European Parliament, and the exhibition is expected to contribute to the promotion of Cypriot culture in Europe and the strengthening of ties between Cyprus and the EU.
