CYprus Public Health Services Organization: Embracing Technology and Innovation

The Cyprus Public Health Services Organization (OKYPY) is leading the digital transformation of the healthcare sector in Cyprus. Starting in 2012, the organization has developed a comprehensive medical image management infrastructure covering all public hospitals, now managing over 350,000 examinations annually. This infrastructure allows for the immediate comparison of current and previous examinations, improving diagnostic accuracy and patient monitoring. Beyond hospitals, OKYPY is expanding its services to other organizations, such as the Ministry of Health and the Oncology Center of the Bank of Cyprus. Recently, it incorporated the Population Breast Cancer Screening Program, installing the system in five health centers across Cyprus, with the Aglantzia Health Center serving as the central archiving point. Innovation is central to OKYPY's strategy, with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance diagnostic accuracy in mammography. AI algorithms will provide radiologists with an assessment of the probability of findings, aiding in the early detection of cancer. OKYPY is committed to continuous improvement and expansion of its services, leveraging the latest technological advancements to provide high-quality healthcare to the Cypriot population. Investing in technology and innovation is a key priority for addressing challenges in the healthcare sector and ensuring a sustainable and effective healthcare system.
