The ceremony will be attended by prominent figures such as the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Council Antonio Costa, as well as the Presidents of Ukraine, Moldova, Iraq, and Lebanon. The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, described the assumption of the Presidency as a “moment of pride” and expressed his confidence that Cyprus will meet the challenges. The ceremony will include speeches and a multi-layered artistic performance entitled “MEMORY – PRESENT – META”, directed by Kostas Silvestros, which will highlight the history and culture of Cyprus as part of European culture. The performance will combine various art forms, such as music, dance, theatre, image, poetry, and digital technologies. Following the ceremony, President Christodoulides will host a formal dinner for the heads of the 14 official delegations at the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia. Simultaneously, joint meetings are scheduled, including one with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of the European Council Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
