Cyprus: Two Arrested for Theft from Kiosk and Driving Stolen Vehicles

Two men, aged 32 and 31, have been placed under an eight-day detention order following a court decision, as part of an investigation into a theft from a kiosk in the province of Nicosia. Their arrest was made by the Police after evidence emerged that they were driving stolen vehicles. Specifically, the 32-year-old was arrested on Friday for the illegal possession of a car stolen between December 18-19, while the 31-year-old was arrested on Saturday, also for illegal possession of a vehicle stolen between December 20-21. During the inspection of the 31-year-old's car, burglary tools and a small amount of cannabis were found, resulting in his arrest for drug and tool possession. The 23-year-old passenger of the 31-year-old was arrested for the burglary tools and released with a court summons. The case of the theft from the kiosk, which occurred on December 24, is being investigated by the Pera Chorio Nisou Police Station, alongside the car theft cases.
