Deadline Approaching: Vehicle License Renewals Without Surcharge Due by Tuesday

The Department of Road Transport reminds citizens that the deadline for renewing vehicle licenses for the year 2026 expires on March 31, 2026. They are urged to renew early to avoid inconvenience, especially on the last day of the deadline. After March 31, 2026, renewals will be subject to a fee of €10, plus an amount equal to 10% of the vehicle license corresponding to the amount due. The process of refunding the surcharge to owners who renewed their vehicle licenses on March 12 and 13, 2026, is underway and will be completed according to the procedures of the General Accounting Office of the Republic.
