Deja Vu: From Allende to Maduro

The overthrow of Salvador Allende's government in Chile in 1973 by the United States under Nixon, orchestrated by Kissinger, serves as a historical precedent for the recent arrest of Maduro in Venezuela. Although the methods differ – Allende's overthrow was through a coup and Maduro's arrest appears more mild – the essence remains the same: US interference in the internal affairs of other countries to promote its interests. However, the most significant difference lies in the lack of reaction from the international community to Maduro's case, compared to the era of Allende. The author argues that this is due to a broader mutation of humanity, which has transformed from an active citizen to a passive observer, enhanced by the cynicism and rhetoric of Trump. The use of moral dust and the simultaneous confession of real intentions (resource exploitation) by Trump create a climate of acceptance of the inevitable and waiting for the next target, such as Greenland or Cuba. This situation suggests a new era of American colonialism.
