Deteriorating Weather in Cyprus: Storms, Snowfall, and Temperature Drop

A new low-pressure system from the Aegean Sea is affecting Cyprus, bringing deteriorating weather conditions starting tonight. The Meteorological Service has issued a Yellow Warning for rain and thunderstorms, mainly in coastal areas, valid for 24 hours from 9:00 PM. Snowfall is expected in Troodos, potentially heavy in places, while lower mountains will experience fog and frost. The temperature is expected to drop by around 4 degrees Celsius tomorrow, Monday. The intensity of the rain is estimated to range between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour. Winds will be strong to very strong, with the possibility of strengthening during thunderstorms. According to meteorologist Andreas Chrysanthou, the deteriorating weather pattern will last until tomorrow evening, with the possibility of renewing the warning if necessary. The low-pressure system is located northwest of Cyprus and is moving southeast, while the arrival of a cold air mass is expected. Citizens are advised to be prepared for the adverse weather conditions and take the necessary protective measures. The sea will be generally wavy to very wavy, especially along the west and northwest coasts.
