Diko Leader Expresses Displeasure with President's Statements Regarding Funding Allegations

The President of Diko, Nikola Papadopoulos, expressed his displeasure with the President of the Republic's statements regarding the video leak suggesting illegal funding. He argued that Diko's positions cannot be equated with the opposition's criticism, while clarifying that there is no request for the party to withdraw from the government. Diko believes that the suspension of the Director-General of the President's Office is a step in the right direction, as is the removal of the First Lady from the Independent Fund and the abolition of the Fund itself. Mr. Papadopoulos stressed the need for an investigation by specialized criminal investigators and the protection of the institution of the Presidency, expressing the view that friends or associates of the President may have exposed him. Furthermore, he described the video as suspicious due to the unknown source of its publication and called for caution.
