Dive into a Penguin's Life: Stunning Footage from Antarctica

Ukrainian scientists from the Vernadsky Research Base in Antarctica have released incredible underwater footage captured by a camera attached to a penguin's back. The camera, along with a GPS tracker, recorded the penguin's daily life, including how it dives, hunts krill, releases air for better hydrodynamics, and moves at high speed underwater. The video is authentic and has not been sped up, offering a realistic view of penguin life in their natural environment. Additionally, it captured the penguins grooming their feathers while swimming, a crucial process for insulation and speed. This research, conducted in collaboration with the Norwegian Polar Institute, aims to validate GPS data and support efforts to protect the marine ecosystems of Antarctica. The footage provides a unique glimpse into the world of penguins and contributes to a better understanding of their behavior.
