EAC President: Authority Not Allowed to Develop as it Would Like

The President of EAC, George Petrou, stated that the Authority is unable to develop fully due to restrictions and regulations. He mentioned that the entry of CYTA into the energy market should be carefully considered, as it could create imbalances and increase the cost of electricity. Mr. Petrou emphasized the need for EAC to continue investing in photovoltaic parks to reduce electricity costs, while also accusing the state of lacking support. Additionally, he referred to opaque procedures for granting licenses for photovoltaic parks and expressed hope for faster progress in discussions with the new Minister of Energy. Finally, he expressed the view that the Police do not function as partners of the citizens, but as their enemies.
