Energy Minister to Cairo for Talks - Agreement to Develop Natural Gas Signed

The Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Michalis Damianou is traveling to Cairo for talks and to sign a Framework Agreement for the development of natural gas discoveries in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus. The signing will take place on the sidelines of the EGYPES 2026 exhibition, in the presence of the Presidents of Cyprus and Egypt. The agreement concerns the development of the 'Cronos' and 'Aphrodite' fields. The Minister will also accompany President Christodoulides to a meeting with the CEO of TotalEnergies. In addition, he will participate in a ministerial discussion on energy priorities and national security, as well as bilateral meetings with representatives of companies such as BP, Arcius and ExxonMobil. The visit is part of an effort to strengthen energy cooperation between Cyprus and Egypt.
