Equality Union Announces Protests Over Police Duty Hour Cuts

The Equality Union has announced a series of measures in response to the reduction of police duty hours, including a protest outside the Parliament. The union expressed its dissatisfaction following a meeting with the Minister of Justice, Konstantinos Fytiris, and intends to appeal to the Cypriot courts. Furthermore, it will inform Europol about the situation and calls on the other police union (SAK) to co-organize a protest. Equality accuses the Ministry of Justice of creating a fait accompli and questions the legality of the duty hour cuts. It also requests the immediate scheduling of a session of the Parliamentary Legal Committee on the matter, with the presence of all parliamentary parties.
