EU Commission Offers Concessions After Farmer Protests

The European Commission is attempting to appease farmer protests, which have taken place across several European cities, including Brussels. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a proposal to increase funding for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and rural communities, reaching almost €294 billion. Additionally, early access to up to €45 billion from 2028 is being proposed. An emergency meeting of European Agriculture Ministers is also taking place in Brussels to address the concerns of farmers.
