European Commission Visits Green Line in Cyprus

The European Commission visited the Green Line in Nicosia today, as part of the final day of their visit to Cyprus. The tour included visits to points near the Green Line and the old town of the capital. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, and the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, accompanied the members of the College during the tour. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, had visited the Green Line the previous day with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides. The visit of the College of Commissioners to the Green Line aims to demonstrate the European Union's support for the resolution of the Cyprus issue and the reunification of the island. Their presence symbolizes the EU's commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. The members of the College are expected to depart from Cyprus shortly before noon on Friday, completing their visit to the island.
