Αναστάτωση προκλήθηκε σε κτηνοτροφική μονάδα στο Γέρι όπου λειτουργοί των Κτηνιατρικών Υπηρεσιών είχαν σπεύσει για δειγματοληπτικό έλεγχο στα ζώα λόγω του αφθώδους πυρετού.
Η άρνηση του ιδιοκτήτη της μονάδας να επιτρέψει την είσοδο στους λειτουργούς για τη διενέργεια του δειγματοληπτικού ελέγχου υπήρξε η αφορμή για την αναστάτωση που επικράτησε ενώ στο σημείο έσπευσε και η Αστυνομία.
Σύμφωνα με την Αστυνομία ο ιδιοκτήτης δεν συνελήφθη ωστόσο οδηγήθηκε σε τοπικό αστυνομικό σταθμό για τη διερεύνηση του περιστατικού.
