Cyprus is expected to be affected by strong weather phenomena today, Friday, with a drop in temperature, a strengthened wind field, rain and thunderstorms. A yellow warning has been issued for the strong winds, which will reach 7-8 Beaufort, with the possibility of tornadoes. Snow is expected in the higher mountains. Meteorological Department official Andreas Chrysanthou said the temperature will drop by 5-6 degrees compared to yesterday, reaching 15-17 degrees inland and on the coast and 4 degrees in the mountains. Saturday is expected to see a slight rise in temperature and a weakening of the winds, but rain will continue. On Sunday, the wind field will strengthen again, with rain, thunderstorms and snow in the mountains. The same pattern will continue on Monday and Tuesday, with additional cold air mass and a further drop in temperature.
