French Official Drugged Hundreds of Women for Humiliation

A French public official, Christian Negre, has been convicted of drug-related offenses and sexual assault after administering powerful diuretics to 248 women during fake job interviews. His intention was to force them to lose control of their bodily functions and humiliate them by watching them suffer. Negre recorded the "interviews" in an Excel spreadsheet titled "experiments". This case echoes that of Gisèle Pelicot, whose husband drugged her before inviting strangers to rape her. Police launched an investigation into Negre in 2019, following his dismissal from the Ministry of Culture. Victim testimonies describe the humiliating experience, with one woman stating that Negre watched her "straight in the eyes" while she suffered from the effects of the drugs. Another woman described how Negre suggested she urinate under a bridge during a walk. Police discovered that Negre documented his actions in an Excel spreadsheet titled "experiments", demonstrating the premeditated nature of his crimes. The case has shocked France and highlights the need for protection of women from such forms of violence and abuse.
