The President of Gambia, Adama Barrow, has stated that the country is in mourning following the shipwreck of a migrant boat off its coast, which has claimed the lives of at least seven people and left many others missing. The boat, carrying over 200 migrants, capsized on the night of December 31st. Rescue operations are ongoing, with 102 survivors rescued so far, many of whom are hospitalized in intensive care units. President Barrow expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and pledged an investigation into the causes of the tragedy.
