The bad weather is hitting Cyprus since Saturday morning, March 14th, with heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The Fire Service has received a total of 43 calls island-wide until 5:30 PM, mainly for opening drainage ditches, rescuing property (opening gutters), pumping water from basements, and fallen trees. They were also called to tow immobilized vehicles, remove objects due to wind, and deal with sparking cables. The difficult weather conditions have increased the workload of the Fire Service, which is responding to a series of incidents across Cyprus. The authorities are on alert to deal with the consequences of the bad weather and provide assistance where needed. The bad weather has caused problems in various areas of Cyprus, endangering the safety of citizens and causing material damage.
