Holy Synod of Cyprus Declares Mysteries Performed by Former Avvakoum Monastery Monks Invalid

The Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus concluded its session and unanimously decided to revise its Statutory Charter, which will also include the election process. The revision is expected to take several months, and until its completion, the guardianship of the Metropolis of Paphos under Archbishop George is extended. Furthermore, the Synod ruled that the mysteries performed by the former monks of the Holy Monastery of Saint Avvakoum are invalid and do not offer sanctifying grace to the participants.
