Iran: Over 3,000 Anti-Government Protesters Dead

At least 3,428 protesters have been killed in Iran since the beginning of the anti-government demonstrations, according to the non-governmental organization Iran Human Rights (IHR). More than 10,000 people have also been arrested. The increase in the number of victims is due to new information received from sources within the Iranian Ministries of Health and Education. The IHR warns that this number is a minimum and that the actual extent of the violence is even greater. Simultaneously, the UK is withdrawing some of its personnel from its airbase in Qatar, in anticipation of potential US airstrikes against Iran, following similar moves by the US at its own bases in the Middle East.
