Jordan and the European Union reaffirmed their commitment to long-term cooperation in a joint declaration issued following the summit held in Amman. This cooperation is based on the principles of democracy, the rule of law, and human rights, with an emphasis on respecting international law and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. The leaders of both sides agreed to support humanitarian action in Gaza, stability in Syria and Lebanon, and to strengthen investment, security, defense, and energy. Specifically, they supported the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the Trump Plan for resolving the conflict in Gaza, calling for the immediate and uninterrupted provision of humanitarian aid and reiterating that the two-state solution is the only viable one. The EU expressed its appreciation for Jordan's hosting of millions of refugees and pledged economic and technical support, including strengthening UNRWA for Palestinian refugees. In addition, a support package of 3 billion euros for Jordan was announced, including loans, grants, and investments. The launch of the Jordan-EU Security and Defense Dialogue in 2026 was also agreed upon, as was Jordan's accession to the Global Energy Transition Forum (GETF) and cooperation on the green transition and the safe use of hydrogen. Finally, both sides agreed to organize the next summit in Brussels in 2028.
