Lawyer of Tsikkini: 'Letter from the First Lady Concerns Old Posts' - When Will Their Response Be Sent?

The letter from the lawyers of the President's wife, Filippa Karsera, regarding the deletion and termination of Nicoletta Tsikkini's online posts, 'is an attempt to silence and intimidate a critical voice,' said her lawyer, Pampos Ioannidis, to CNA, noting that a reply letter is being prepared, which will be sent within days. As Mr. Ioannidis stated, 'we will answer the letter received by our client on January 15, 2026, and provide a detailed explanation and not general allegations as the complainant does.' He spoke of 'incomprehensible things,' since, as he said, while Ms. Karsera said on January 11 that she would seek legal advice because she was causing great concern and upset to herself and her family, from posts on social media, after the recent publication of the video about corruption in the Government, 'she sent a letter only to Ms. Tsikkini regarding her old posts and not about what happened and led to her resignation (from President of the Management Board of the Independent Social Support Agency) and the President's statement that he intends to dissolve the Agency.' 'We will say in our letter that this is an attempt to silence and intimidate a critical voice towards Ms. Karsera and the President, which is unacceptable,' continued Mr. Ioannidis, emphasizing that, 'from all over Cyprus, Ms. Karsera chooses Ms. Tsikkini and sends her a letter that has nothing to do with the posts of the last 24 hours, but with posts made earlier, the most recent in June 2025.' Asked about this, Ms. Tsikkini's lawyer said that, with her reply letter, they will await whether there will be a counter-response and suggested that, if Ms. Karsera's lawyers choose to proceed with a lawsuit, 'we will certainly face it.'
