Liquefied Petroleum Gas Reaches €25 per Bottle – Ministry Has the Power to Impose a Price Cap, But Doesn't
The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has soared to €25 per bottle, raising concerns among consumers. The Consumers Association points out that the Ministry of Commerce has the power to impose a price cap, but has not taken any action so far. Criticism is also being leveled at the government for not including a tax reduction for heating oil in its package of measures, given that consumption remains significant, especially in mountainous areas where heating is still used in May. According to data from the Ministry of Finance, 2,549 tons of heating oil were consumed in May. Additionally, increases of 4 to 6 cents per liter are expected in the price of heating oil this week.
