Lynn Boylan: EU Must Confront Israel and Uphold International Law

Lynn Boylan, MEP for Sinn Féin and Chair of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with Palestine, is calling on the EU to take a firmer stance against Israel and uphold international law. Boylan criticizes the EU for its inaction in the face of Israel's violations of international law and advocates for the imposition of sanctions, an arms embargo, and support for the International Criminal Court. The MEP emphasizes that the situation in Palestine is at a critical point, with ongoing killings of Palestinians in Gaza and increasing illegal settlement activity in the West Bank. She believes the Trump plan constitutes an attempt to impose a new form of colonial domination. Furthermore, Boylan expresses concern about the militarization of the EU, arguing that it undermines the stability and sovereignty of states. She stresses that the EU must be a guardian of legality, not an instrument of power. Sinn Féin prioritizes the promotion of peace and justice in Palestine and in Ireland.
